BMW Group plans to significantly reduce CO2 emissions by using low-carbon Canadian aluminum in its vehicles. The German car manufacturer intends to source aluminium with reduced CO2 emissions from Rio Tinto’s hydro-powered operations in Canada starting in 2024 and has signed a memorandum of understanding to this effect. Compared to conventionally manufactured aluminium, this approach can reduce approximately 70%  of CO2 emissions.

SIXT opened its first rental car branch in Toronto. It will be servicing passengers arriving at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Only last summer, the company expanded into Canada with branches in Vancouver, extending its presence across the entire North American continent. The new SIXT branch is located just a few minutes by shuttle from Canada’s largest airport.

Vital Metals Ltd, Canada’s first rare earths mining company, recently announced a substantial increase in the Mineral Resource Estimate for its Tardiff Upper Zone Deposit, which forms part of the Nechalacho Rare Earth Project, 100 kilometres south-east of Yellowknife in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
