The Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the American German Chamber of Commerce are organizing a trilateral two-day virtual roadshow on Electrification of Transport, which will take place on November 9 (Canada) and November 11 (USA), 2021 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (EST). The roadshow is part of the Climate-Bridge-Program supported by the German Embassy in Ottawa and the German Consulate in Montreal.
Canada is home to four companies dedicated to building electric buses. With domestic manufacturing facilities in the background, the electrification of public transportation is driven particularly by the Canadian federal government as well as by cities themselves. The first round table of the virtual roadshow (November 9) will take a closer look at public transport with electrically powered vehicles and will address the prerequisites, obstacles in implementation and future developments in Canada, the USA & Germany. The round table will include 3 break-out sessions on the topics:
- Electrification of transport – One fit for all?
- Challenges and opportunities for the implementation of electric public transport systems in cities
- Electrification and Automation – Solutions for the last mile?
The second round table (November 11) will focus on individual transport with electrically powered vehicles in the USA, Canada & Germany and will shed more light on future developments and challenges in this sector.
The road show is open to representatives from the industry, associations, policy and media. The audience will be invited to take part in the break-out sessions which will include leading experts from Canada, the USA & Germany.
