The Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce is hosting a German business delegation on the topic “Film Industry” together with the Association of Technical Companies for Film & Television. The business delegation will visit Ontario and British Columbia from September 25 – 29, 2023, to learn more about the Canadian film market and to build new partnerships with Canadian companies from the industry.

As part of their program, the delegation will also join the Canadian German conference on the same topic on September 26, 2023. To learn more about the conference please visit our conference website.

The Canadian film industry dates back to the late 1800s and the rise of filmmaking itself. Over the years, Canada has produced many films, brought out notable directors, and world-renowned actors, producers, and writers. Canadian films are often funded with a combination of government funding and incentives, broadcaster investment, and film distributors. In 2020, Canada’s film and television production industry created over $9 billion in production volume, contributed $12.2 billion to the GDP and generated nearly 244,500 jobs.
