A new joint effort has been announced by Airbus Canada, Pratt & Whitney Canada and SAF+ Consortium to work together on developing sustainable aviation fuel for the next generation. The project, named CADAQ-100, will receive support from the Quebec government and aims to contribute towards achieving the goal of net-zero carbon dioxide emissions in aviation by 2050, as per the decarbonization roadmaps outlined by the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Congratulations to Baymag for achieving a remarkable trifecta of records in March: a new all-time monthly sales record, which is supported by a new production record at the Exshaw plant, and the highest tonnage of ore mined in a single month at the Mt. Brussil mine.

The study "Canada-Germany Resource Security: Navigating in a Changing World Order", conducted by our member Nanos Research, Atlantik-Brücke Canada, and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Canada, identifies Green Hydrogen and Critical Minerals as the most promising areas for German Canadian collaboration in the field of energy. 

The study concludes that investments in infrastructure are needed to advance the partnership. Both countries should also work together to develop standards and regulations. While there are significant opportunities for cooperation between the two countries on energy and natural resource files, concrete actions are needed to move beyond goodwill.

The battery company of Volkswagen Group, PowerCo SE, is planning to construct its largest gigafactory yet in St. Thomas, Ontario, with an annual production capacity of up to 90 GWh in the final expansion phase. Moreover, the planned investment of up to €4.8 billion / CAD$ 7 billion until 2030 has the potential to create up to 3,000 highly skilled jobs at the factory and tens of thousands more indirect jobs in the region.
