Become a sponsor and be present when renewables take-off in Alberta!

Over the past decade the annual Canadian German Wind and Solar Energy Conferences have become a synonym for knowledge transfer, professional exchange and great networking opportunities for Canadian and German wind and solar energy professionals. In November 2015, Alberta’s Premier released Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan and announced that the province will implement an accelerated phase out of coal by 2030. Two-thirds of the existing coal electricity will be replaced with renewable energy. Hence, Alberta will add 5,000 MW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. To meet this target, investment in Alberta’s electricity system will be solicited through a competitive bidding process – the Renewable Electricity Program – run by the Alberta Electric System Operator .

The recent developments promise exciting opportunities for the development of renewables in Alberta in the coming years.

The first of three stages of the first competition, which will see investors bidding to provide up to 400 MW of renewable electricity, is about to start. By organizing the 13th Canadian German Wind and Solar Energy Conference in Calgary, the Canadian German Chamber intends to utilize this current momentum and support the development of the renewables industry in the province by promoting strategic partnerships between Canadian and German market players. Your sponsorship will provide valuable exposure directly to industry stakeholders in Alberta and with your sponsorship, we are able to host this conference at a reasonable cost to the participants allowing greater participation.
